How do Botanical Affairs
essential oils work?

There are three different ways how essential oils can affect us. Through our skin barrier, our sense of smell and our stomach.

Through our skin: The specificity of the molecules of essential oils makes it possible for them to pass through our skin and cell membranes and work inside. This works for both the outer skin and the inner mucous membranes. Added to bath water or sitz bath, the oils also unfold their effect because they penetrate the skin. Whether they have a relaxing, stimulating or, as in our case, antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effect, depends on the oil in question.

Through our sense of smell: Not only can we smell the scent of essential oils. Our olfactory nerves also transmit the signal to the brain and in this way can influence our moods.

Via our stomach: We can also absorb essential oils through our stomach if we consume appropriate plants, spices, or special supplements. For example, ginger, thyme, and peppermint essential oils.

Knowledge is power
If you have experienced recurring bladder infections and have already undergone multiple antibiotic therapies, this can create a negative impact on one’s intestines, the seat of our immune system. A weak immune system in turn causes new inflammations - a vicious circle is started that can be hard to interrupt.

Alleviate symptoms and gently combat the problem at its root
Often, after recurring bladder infections, no ‘good’ bacteria are available to fight them. When this happens, conventional medicine lacks the tools to help heal the patient.

Working with the body - not against it
We don't want your body to become more and more dependent on antibiotics and hence vulnerable. We want to help the body to heal itself, allowing you to live a pain-free life again.
